Tank beats everything

Yesterday I had my first game of Warhammer 30k aka the Horus Heresy. I used my DKoK tank company and some cardigans in rhinos as a proxy for the Solar Auxilia (rhinos being aurix sized…). My opponent played Nightlords with one tactical squad and one jump pack terror squad (I think…) and an HQ guy. You see my knowledge of the names and units is great already. It didn’t really matter because over the course of 3 turns his guys got crushed by tank shells and lasrifle volleys. 10 solar guys got sacrificed… :p

Anyway, here are pictures:

Using his 2 inch deployment so he doesn’t get killed instantly. Also, those guys had a mishap while dropping… He wanted to drop BEHIND my tanks… Oh well

That’s it…

I’ll certainly have more games because I liked the older editions so it feels natural and is fun. And I might have 2.5k of Solar Auxilia already anyway. They probably become spire guards and then I can add some shiny TS 😁

One for the Road

This will probably be this year’s last post, and I’ll make it quick.

This year was quite exciting (and expensive) as it saw the re-release of my favourite and first faction from almost a quarter century ago: Lizardmen (Seraphon). A couple of necromunda bits here and there followed and the year was finished by the osgiliath box of LotR strategy game… There will be pictures next year of all my old miniatures 🙂

So here is the final batch of miniatures, I’ll do some finishing touches the next couple of days.

I will hate the four steps of painting eyes 🤣

Time for some updates…

I’m going to enter two things in this years contest. First, a nice little gaming board for those nice 15mm miniatures, stretching the limitations a bit :p

Second is a small diorama featuring a trader wandering at the edges of the Naralon forest, not realising he is already hunted…
